Book Description:

What do you do with an interrupting sibling? Especially when she’s stepping all over your story with wild ideas that don’t. Even. Rhyme. Knights riding rockets? Dancing pirates? Who’s ever heard of a fire-breathing armadillo?! But when this big brother realizes his sister just might be improving his yarn—and doing it with an impressive surprise of her own—it’s clear what you do with an interrupting sibling. You share the narrative! Turns out adventure is way more fun when you build it together, rhyme by daring rhyme.

Review:

I LOVE this book. My kids LOVE this book.

The brother is reading a book he wrote in rhyme, about a brave knight, but his sister keeps jumping in with her own endings to his sentences (that don’t rhyme). Her brother is annoyed, but goes along with her additions until he finally gets fed up. Only then he realizes that she had her own way of rhyming all along, and then they work together to finish the story.

I love the sibling connection, the fantastical pictures, and the cleverness of the rhyming/not-rhyming. This is a must read-aloud book. Be sure to pause at the page turns so your child can finish the rhyme before the sister interrupts!
