Here is an easy preschool craft: beautiful kites flying in a blue sky with puffy white clouds.

Cut diamonds out of various patterned paper and allow child to pick their favorites. Glue the kites to the paper and then pick pieces of yarn to add on for the tails. Cotton balls, pulled apart gently, glue on for the clouds. Beautiful as a bulletin board wall!

Update for kindergarten and 1st grade: Children cut their own kites and strings. They could even make kites using more than one piece of paper (cut into triangles, then make a diamond by gluing them together – geometry!)

Supplies Needed:

  • blue construction paper
  • patterned papers
  • glue
  • yarn
  • cotton balls
