As you have been following, Josh and I had a decision to make about what we were going to do about our adoption. After Russia shut down all adoptions before we received our referral, we had to regroup and see where God was leading us from here.

We decided to try to have our own biological child. Surprise, surprise, as soon as we started trying I was pregnant!

We were surprised that it happened so quickly – but very excited. We told our families and they were very excited. We hadn’t been the only ones disappointed in our failed adoption. All those grandparents waiting for a grandchild were getting quite impatient!

There’s our little one at 8 weeks. We are currently at twelve weeks and I’m excited to hopefully be feeling better soon. The last month has not been the most pleasant experience for me. Food has been a little hard to swallow. But they say I’m almost out of the woods there – most women start to feel better around twelve or thirteen weeks. Since I woke up this morning from a dream about cooking barbequed meat (one of the things I’ve avoided), I’m thinking I’m almost there! I’m ready for the part of pregnancy where I want to eat a lot!
