I’ve heard about how great the Alaska cruises are, and this summer Josh and I got to experience the wonders of Alaska for ourselves. We picked Celebrity Cruises because a friend of ours told us that they were the best. Our verdict: it was a wonderful cruise. We had a great experience on the ship and I feel like our Captain did a great job balancing safety with the opportunities to see the glaciers and icebergs floating by. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

First off, we boarded in Seattle. It was a beautiful sunny day in Seattle, if you can believe it.

The boarding process went very smoothly and before long we were on board the Celebrity Solstice. We couldn’t get into our room yet, but we wandered through the ship to explore, and ate lunch at the cafeteria restaurant. When we got into our room, we were very pleased with it. It seemed more roomy than the other rooms we had stayed in on Norwegian Cruise Line.
